After thoughtful discussion, questions and answers, the congregation voted to approve these four motions:
First Motion: “to fund the removal and abatement of the existing asbestos tile and carpet from the sanctuary and replace with new tile and carpet, not to exceed 150,000.”
Second Motion: “to reconfigure pews with wider spacing and aisle niches for wheelchairs and walkers.”
Third Motion: “to locate the stone baptismal font at the sanctuary entrance.”
Fourth Motion: “to fund the Digital Recording System upgrade project, not to exceed $100,000.”
The Sanctuary Interior Committee is very grateful for the good attendance at the meeting, all the congregational input leading up to the recommendations put forward, and the support for the work of the committee.
Pew removal will be Tuesday May 29th, with storage in the Fireside Room. A wedding party will use the Fireside Room on Sunday May 27th. Stay tuned for a plea for help move Fireside Room furniture on Monday May 28th (Memorial Day).
Jerry Hinz will also be very busy that week moving audio visual equipment from the sanctuary into the Fellowship Room for the services to be held there during June and July.
