Saint James offers teaching and training on the basics of the Christian faith for all ages:
We begin with Sunday School classes for young children, teaching them stories and truths from the Bible and how each shows us God’s love.
Adolescents & Teens
Sixth Grade Confirmation Class is devoted to Bible survey. We trace God’s plan of salvation in Christ from the first book of the Bible to the last. The major characters and events of the Bible are reviewed with emphasis on how God prepared for the coming of Christ in Old Testament times, and how the New Testament records Christ’s life, death, and resurrection, and tells what God’s plan is for the Church until Christ comes again. In addition, we study and memorize portions of Luther’s Small Catechism, particularly the sections on the Ten Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, and Baptism.
Pastor Rokke teaches the Sixth Grade class.
Grades 7+ meet together Wednesdays and Sundays with Pastors Albrecht and Critchley and Terese Thune. Using the DiscipleQuest model, students and an adult mentor (often, but not always a parent) grow together not only in learning the faith, but receiving training in daily practical application and showing the Good News of Christ’s love to others with confidence.
We invite adults to begin or continue their faith walk by beginning the with 11-week introductory course, Digging Deeper as a Disciple, taught by a rotation all 3 full-time pastors. After that overview, talk to Pastor Dale to get started with DiscipleQuest.
