Last year, Saint James organized our first Delivered Hope food drive in our neighborhood. This year, Delivered Hope will be collecting items for families of the Naomi Family Residence. The Naomi Family Residence provides shelter for women and children escaping abuse, battling addiction, and struggling with homelessness and poverty.
Naomi Family Residence has identified several items the families staying at the shelter need that we will be collecting in the Delivered Hope bags.
The top items are:
Diapers & pull-ups (especially sizes 3-5)
Cleaning supplies (all-purpose sprays, Lysol, and Lysol wipes)
Laundry detergent & dryer sheets
Women’s and kids’ socks
On Sunday, April 23rd after the 10:30 service, the Evangelism Committee will provide pizza for all participants. We will form teams and distribute maps to each team, then the teams will go and hang a cloth shopping bag on each doorknob on their assigned street. The bag will have a tag attached, asking the residents to put one or more items in and leave it on their porch the following Sunday.
Then, on Sunday, April 30th, we will have a quick lunch after the services and collect all the bags and deliver them later to the Naomi Family Residence. It will take 30-60 minutes each day.
We need your help:
Attach bags with twist ties before April 23
Walk door-to-door and deliver the bags April 23
Walk door-to-door and pick up the bags April 30
