In November, Pastor Stadler concludes his 6:30 p.m. Thursday Bible classes on “Why the location of a Bible story might give important insights into what is happening.” On November 1st, the class goes to the tiny village of Cana for the 1st miracle Jesus performed. Why there? Why not in Jerusalem? Why water to wine? Then on to Jacob’s well where Jesus violated a ton of cultural taboos by talking with a Samaritan woman and staying in her village overnight. On November 8th, the class explores the Mount of Olives, sees where Jesus wept over Jerusalem, where He prayed in Gethsemane and was arrested and taken to Caiaphas’ house where Peter denied Him. On November 15th, we tour Temple Mount. We picture where Mary and Joseph found the 12-year-old Jesus in the temple. Where did He throw out the money changers and the merchants? Where did the first Christians gather in Solomon’s Porch after His Ascension? There is no class on Thanksgiving. The last class, November 29th will look at Bethlehem and review some Stable Fables and Manger Myths in preparation for the Advent season. Can you picture where these things happened? We’ll see. Some participants ask questions and pose possibilities. Others sit and listen. All are welcome.
