Ephesians – “Paul’s Rhapsody in Christ”
Last summer we discussed the history of the church in Ephesus recorded in Acts chapters 18-20. Then we studied Ephesians chapter 1. By way of introduction to chapter 2, John R. W. Stott says, “Paul first plumbs the depths of pessimism about man, and then rises to the heights of optimism about God….to paint a vivid contrast between what man is by nature and what he can become by grace.” How does salvation by grace alone produce good works in our lives today?
