Today we began the life of Samson in Judges 13-16. The Lord informed his parents that he would be a lifelong “Nazirite.” What does that require of him? Did he consistently live as a Nazirite? Is Samson the kind of character parents would want their daughters to date or marry? How can we use the story of Samson to find reminders of the life of Jesus? Why would God choose to use him as His “judge” to deliver Israel? He is brutal, violent, lustful and destructive. What lessons can we learn for our modern lives of Christian discipleship?
