Leviticus – The LORD Speaks to Us Today
Now that we have considered the various forms of sin offerings, how does the New Testament present Jesus as the ultimate sin offering? What is the difference between a sin offering and a guilt offering? Why might it be better to call the guilt offering a reparation offering? The misappropriation or abuse of a holy thing is an act of sacrilege. Breaking an oath made in God’s holy name is also sacrilege. Like the sin offering, the purpose of the reparation offering is emphasized by the repeated refrain of atonement and forgiveness. How do we handle sins of sacrilege today? All are welcome to join the discussion.
