Leviticus – The LORD Speaks to Us Today
Leviticus chapter eight narrates the liturgical rituals by which Moses ordained Aaron as the first High Priest, and his sons as the first priests. How can Moses ordain all the priests when he is not a priest himself? Moses follows the instructions he has received from God in Exodus chapter 29. Moses performs some of the rituals that will subsequently be done by the priests, but Moses does not eat the meat of the sacrifices that God has designated for the priests to eat. What is God teaching us about “following precedent”? Your comments and questions are encouraged. All are welcome.
