Leviticus – The LORD Speaks to Us Today
The ordination of Aaron and his sons, and the first divine service in the Tabernacle were a high point that was quickly followed by a low point, the deaths of Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron. The same fire that came out from the presence of the LORD to consume the sacrifices on the altar at the end of chapter 9 now comes out from the presence of the LORD to consume two priests at the beginning of chapter 10. The same fire brought both blessing and death. Do you hear both the Law and the Gospel? Why did Aaron remain silent at the death of his sons? What does this story teach us about our worship today?
