Traditional Sunday service is at 9:00 am during summer (from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends). Also in summer, come a little early at 8:45am and join us for a short pre-service hymn-sing where worshippers request their favorite hymns. There are no Sunday School or Sunday Bible classes in summer.
“Sonrise” contemporary services are held Monday nights at 6:30 pm year-round, with a few exceptions for holidays. Please see our calendar for details. Singing is led by a worship ensemble of vocalists and instrumentalists, including piano, flute, saxophones, drums and guitar. Songs, prayers, Scripture lessons and sermon illustrations are projected on a screen that is easy to see. The format is a little more informal and casual. If you know of someone who can’t attend Sunday morning worship, feel free to invite them to come with you. First-time visitors often attend on Mondays.
We offer Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays and Mondays of each month.
The Sacrament of the Altar is a special blessing for God’s people. In it, our sins are forgiven, our weak faith is strengthened, and our resolve to live for the Lord is renewed. We believe the word of Jesus that in, with and under the bread and the wine we are receiving the Real Presence of our Savior, His Body and His Blood, for the forgiveness of sins, life and salvation. All who are confirmed and confess with us this understanding of the Lord’s Supper are welcome to receive the sacrament with us. By this act of worship we are fellowshipping in a close communion with each other as we receive the Lord’s Supper. Visitors who wish to continue to commune with us on a regular basis, or those who have questions are encouraged to speak with one of the pastors.
Non-alcoholic white wine is available in each tray for anyone who prefers it. Gluten-free wafers are also available. To indicate that you prefer gluten-free, please raise your index finger when the wafers are brought to you.
Parents are welcome to bring their non-confirmed children with them to the altar. The ushers will allow space for them at each table. The pastor will also pronounce a blessing on them. Parents should instruct such unconfirmed children not to stand on the cushions and to keep their hands folded, so the servers will know who should not receive the bread and the wine.
All of our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We worship in our main sanctuary. Childcare is not provided during services, but children are welcome at all services. If you prefer, there is a nursery available with a live broadcast of the service as well as our Fireside room which has roomy, comfortable seating and also a television with a live broadcast of the service.
